Teveten is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and used to treat hypertension and reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and cardiovascular disease.
Teveten should be stored at room temperature in an area that is protected from moisture and heat.
Notify your doctor if you have any of the following before taking Tevetan: kidney disease; liver disease; congestive heart failure; or if you are dehydrated.
Drinking alcohol while taking Teveten is not recommended as it may lower your blood pressure and increase the side effects of Teveten. If you are taking Teveten, do not take any potassium supplements or salt substitutes unless your doctor recommends it.
Patient Family Information : This prescription medication should be taken exactly as prescribed. When taking Teveten, follow the directions on your prescription label. Teveten can be taken with food or without food. It may take up to three weeks for this medication to take full effect. Do not stop taking this medication until directed to do so by your doctor.
If you are pregnant, or planning to become pregnant, do not take this medication, as it may have extremely adverse effects on an unborn child. Do not take this medication if you are allergic to any of the contents in this medication.
Sever Side Effects : If you experience any of the following side effects, contact your doctor immediately: feeling like you might pass out; painful or difficult urination; chest pain; or swelling in your hands or feet. If you have muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, contact
Common side effects include: runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, cough; joint pain; nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea; headache, dizziness; or tired feeling.
