Description
Spectazole is an anti-fungal agent used to treat certain yeast and fungal infections of the skin.
Spectazole should be strored below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C), away from light, heat and moisture. Do not store this medication in the bathroom. Keep out of reach of children.
Use Spectazole Cream for the full course of treatment as prescribed by your physician. Do not discontinue use if you start to feel better as symptoms often improve before the infection has actually healed completely. Do not use bandages or dressings that do not allow air to circulate to the affected area unless directed by your doctor.
Spectazole Cream is for external use only and can be harmful if ingested. Avoid contact with eyes, nose or mouth. If possible, do not scratch the infected area as this can cause more irritation and spread infection. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding to discuss any possible risks to your baby.
Patient Family Information : Use Spectazole Cream as directed by your physician. Follow the directions on the medication label for exact instructions. This is for topical use only on the skin. Before applying, wash the affected area and dry it completely. Apply the medicine gently and evenly to the affected area. Wash your hands with soap and water after application of the medication (unless your hands are part of the affected area) to remove any medicine left on your hands. Be sure to use Spectazole Cream for the full course of treatment as directed by your doctor in order to clear the infection completely. Do not discontinue use if you feel better after only a few days. If you miss a dose, use it as soon as possible. If you don’t remember until it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not use 2 doses at one time to make up for the missed dose.
Spectazole Cream should not be taken if you are allergic to any ingredient in the medication.
Sever Side Effects : Serious side effects include: severe skin irritation (blistering, peeling, swelling, dryness), severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue).
Common side effects include: burning; itching; redness; stinging of skin.
