Description

Citracal is a calcium citrate mineral used to treat and prevent calcium deficiencies.

Store at room temperature. Keep away from moisture and heat.

Before taking Centrum, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or breastfeeding; if you are taking prescription or over the counter medication, herbal preparation, or dietary supplements; if you have had kidney stones; if you have parathyroid gland disease; if you take antacids or other calcium supplements; if you take a tetracycline antibiotic including minocycline (Minocin, Dynacin, and others), tetracycline (Sumycin, Achromycin V, and others), doxycycline (Vibramycin, Monodox, Doxy, and others), oxytetracycline (Terramycin, and others) or demeclocycline (Declomycin).

Do not take Citracal with other medications, especially antacids without consulting with your doctor first.

Read the directions on the prescription label. Do not take larger doses than prescribed by your doctor. Take this medication as directed on the label or by your pharmacist, doctor, or other healthcare provider. Citracal is taken with water. Fill a glass with the amount of water as directed on the package. Dissolve the Citracal tablets in the water completely and drink the entire mixture once the tablets have dissolved. For Citracal to absorb in your body better, take with food. Do not double dose on Citracal. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember. Unless it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular dosing schedule.

Do not take Citracal with other medications, especially antacids without consulting with your doctor first.

Severe: Severe allergic reactions including itching, tightness in the chest, rash, hives, difficulty breathing, and swelling of the mouth, lips, tongue or face.

Common: Constipation; increased urination, decreased appetite, nausea or vomiting, or dry mouth or increased thirst.
