Description
Albee Vitamin C Plus Iron is a multivitamin with iron. It is prescribed to patients who do not take enough vitamins and iron through their diets. Albee Vitamin C Plus Iron is used to treat iron or vitamin deficiencies caused by many conditions such as pregnancy, poor nutrition, illness, digestive disorders, and more.
Store at room temperature in its original container because storing it in glass containters can ruin the medication. Keep away from moisture and heat. Do not freeze liquid forms of Albee Vitamin C Plus Iron.
Before taking Allbee Vitamin C plus Iron inform your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not take milk or other dairy products, antacids with calcium, or calcium supplements with Albee Vitamin C Plus Iron because calcium may decrease absorption of multivitamin with iron. Also, avoid antibiotics 2 hours before or after you take Albee Vitamin C Plus Iron. Such antibiotics include Declmycin (demeclocycline); Cipro (ciprofloxacin); Adoxa, Doryx, Oracea, or Viramycin (doxycycline); Levaquin (levofloxacin); Maxaquin (lomefloxacin); Dynacin, Minocin, Solodyn, or Vectrin (minocycline); Noroxin (norfloxacin); Floxin (ofloxacin); or Brodspec, Panmycin, Sumycin, or Tetracap (tetracycline).
Patient Family Information : Read the directions on the prescription label. Do not take larger doses than prescribed by your doctor. Take this medication as directed on the label or by your pharmacist, doctor, or other healthcare provider. Do not take more doses of Albee Vitamin C Plus Iron than recommended by your doctor. Do not take other multivitamin products within a 2 hour period before or after taking Albee Vitamin C Plus Iron because you can overdose on vitamins or experience serious side effects. Take Albee Vitamin C Plus Iron with a full glass of water. If it upsets your stomach, take with food. Make sure the pill is swallowed whole because if it is opened, broken, chewed, or crushed it may cause too much of the multivitamin to be released at one time.
Do not take an Albee Vitamin C Plus Iron dose more than once. An overdose of A, D, E, or K vitamins can cause serious or life-threatening side effects. An over dose of iron or minerals can cause serious symptoms such as vomiting, stomach pain, coughing up blood, bloody diarrhea, loss of appetite, constipation, peeling skin, hair loss, changes in menstrual periods, warm or tingly feeling, severe headache, weight loss, severe back pain, muscle or joint pain, black or tarry stools, blood in your urine or stools, easy bruising go or bleedings, pale skin, shallow breathing, weakness, pale skin, blue lips, weak and rapid pulse, and convulsions or seizures.
Sever Side Effects : Severe: Pain in your throat or chest when swallowing a ferrous fumarate tablet; or bright red blood in your stools.
Common: Nausea, heartburn, vomiting; black or dark-colored stools or urine; constipation, diarrhea; upset stomach, stomach pain; unusual or unpleasant taste in your mouth; headache; or temporary staining of the teeth.
